The closure date for entries for the right2learn story writing competition is 30 April 2010. Entries are free and can be submitted online at school or at home for children as follows:

Visit the "competitions" page and directly type children's entries into the online form, then "submit"

Alternatively, children may type their story into a word document and save it before the teacher uploads it via the "browse" button on the competitions page.

ALL entries will be uploaded onto the right2learn website in May 2010 for online voting by visitors for their favourite in each year group.

Children making the winning entries in each year shall receive £20 in Waterstones book vouchers and their schools win £40 in vouchers.
The following updates have been made to the right2learn assessment content:

Kent Science:

Years 3 to 6:

All questions are fully uploaded, along with explanation notes.

Audio files have now been re-edited to overcome timing issues with some questions, ie: where answers appeared before questions had been fully read out.

A number of questions in years 4 to 6 have been amended, to be less wordy and easier for children to access.

Years 1 and 2:

In draft stages, planned to be uploaded by April 2010, starting with year 2.

Primary Framework Maths:

Autumn term - A1 to E1 - All questions are fully uploaded. The outstanding explanation notes are now also available within "view test"

Progression year 6/7: Unit A has been uploaded for year 6 within the Autumn term, to allow further flexibility for year 6 teachers. Units B to G are planned to be uploaded by April 2010.

Spring term:

A2 to C2 - All questions are fully uploaded, along with the explanation notes.

D2 and E2 - Questions planned to be uploaded by 28 February 2010.

Summer term:

Years 4 and 5: - A3 to E3 - All questions are fully uploaded, along with the explanation notes.

Year 6: A3 and B3 - Questions uploaded, with explanation notes. C3 to E3 planned to be uploaded by 28 February 2010.

A number of schools have contacted right2learn since the Autumn term to request the download code for the support resources within the "Schools" zone of the right2learn website. A reminder of the code has been emailed to all schools. If you have not received the code, simply contact us here>>
Support documents include assessment plans showing the objectives measured, and APP reference documents showing the measurement of the Assessment Focuses (AFs) within the right2learn assessments. These will continue to be added to during the Spring and Summer terms 2010.
