Right2Learn has successfully supported parents at home in improving their children’s English ability since 2003. A series of visually stimulating online English practice tests and learning resources for children are offered by Right2Learn to assist parents in identifying and addressing their primary school aged children’s English learning needs. Practice tests cover key areas from the national curriculum in logical structures, to make them easy to apply and develop learning.

 

For example the Right2Learn online ‘Word’ tests measure such areas as spelling and the use of phonemes. ‘Sentence” online tests measure children’s use grammar, capital letters, punctuation and sentence structure. ‘Text” online tests measure children’s actual reading, interpretation and extraction of key information. Overall, these provide parents with a broad indicator of their child’s progress in key educational areas in English, with key learning needs pinpointed against national curriculum objectives.

 

All online English tests are automatically marked and feedback and explanations are provided online to enable parents to go back over the questions immediately with their child and develop their learning, before answering further related questions to the English objective. The review feature is intuitive and boosts children’s confidence, by allowing them to see their own results and progress.

 

Upon completion of all online English tests in each section, children receive a personalised certificate. Parents are provided with an online report, where objectives for further learning are identified. These reports may be printed off and passed to others, including teachers at school or private tutors for home tuition. All English tests can be reset to be taken again at a later stage, so that parents can see how their child has progressed, and how home tuition or their own support provided have benefited their child.
