Winning a veteran horse show...

LB - Year 6

The best day ever... I entered a best veteran show (a best veteran show is where you ride a horse without some-one leading you, we had to do a walk, trot and do a canter.) As I entered the ring I realized that I was the only child in the show, and every one else was either a teenager or an adult, this made me more nervous as I was only seven. When it was my turn the judges pulled me out to see what I could do. I set off walking then I kicked my horse Pixie in to a trot as I controlled him round the court and made him do a perfect figure of eight and then into Canter. When I had finished my run, I steered Pixie towards the other competeres. I was the last person to perform so it didn't take long for the results to be announced, this part of the competition was most nerve-racking. The judges soon took the stage and surprisingly I won first place, I still have the trophy. That day was the best ever!
