The Man who Chased Me
NJ - Year 6
I gasped for breath as I looked behind and was thrilled to find that the man wasn’t chasing me. Without thinking, I quickly got out my phone and called my school, telling them that I won’t be able to attend today because of an appointment. I thought that they were curious; I loved school and they know that my mother would have postponed the appointment so I won’t miss my schooling, they might think it’s probably for medical reasons. But what about my mother? Won’t she be shocked if the school phoned and reported I hadn’t shown up for registration? My heart thumped faster that day and I could feel it, like a drum. Despite all the questions in my mind, I was most curious about the man who chased me. I sat on the train and tried to think of what I should do, but I had a stomach ache and I felt nervous anytime a man who is poorly dressed walks past me. As the train approached the station, I felt really peculiar as I could see that same man, but this time he came and grabbed me. Consequently my life, as I knew it, had changed forever.
