“Help!” she shouted. But no one heard her.

Poppy raced through the crowds into the castle. All of a sudden everything changed. Poppy saw her Mum and Dad but they were in dirty clothes and washing dishes.

“Mum, Dad!” Poppy shouted and rushed over to them, but they carried on washing. “Hello…?”

Her Mum and Dad still carried on. It was as if she didn’t exist. Just then a tall, spiteful girl in a grand dress burst through the door. The girl looked very like Poppy’s sister.

“Who are you?” The girl demanded in a posh voice.

“P…p...p...Poppy,” replied Poppy, extremely scared.

“Come with me!” Pulling Poppy’s wrist, she dragged her into the next room.

Suddenly, it all changed back.

“Poppy!” Her sister ran up to her and hugged her tight. “You’re back!”

“Mum, Dad!” Poppy dashed over to them.

“Poppy, you’re safe,” her Mum cried, holding her tight. “Let’s go back to the hotel room”

“You can tell us all about your little adventure” Her Dad added.

  “what an adventure” Poppy thought

The Underground City

AL - Year 6

“I’m sinking into the ground!” Robert screamed while the mysterious carpet yanked him onto the living room floor. He saw the underground city to be very strange as gravity flipped him over. He was frozen with fear. He stared at the brown city. “All made of mud,” he thought.

Robert wandered of to the factory section of the city. It had been wrecked. He found a note saying “Ladders”. He found another carpet just like his, only brown. He found a generator and charged the carpet with energy as the sign said “charge carpets here”. He went out and climbed the everlasting ledge and stuck the carpet onto the ceiling. “It actually sticks!” Robert said to himself.

He put his hand on he carpet and was sucked back to the living room. He was relieved. On his carpet, a note said, “Carpet experiment failed”. Robert was lucky to get back home. He was very glad. The ladder he found was proof that he had been sucked in and went to show his parents. The carpet disintegrated and was never found again.

The people showed the girls their world. “You have hospitals, supermarkets and your own stage… but where are your singers?”

What's Behind the Door?

LP - Year 6

Ali stood silently, looking at the door. With a slow creaking sound, it opened. Taking a deep breath, Ali walked inside. It was almost pitch black. Ali groped around so as not to lose the door and, mercifully, managed to grab hold of the handle. It was cold as ice. Ali felt a bolt of chill surge through him. It was still dark. In the inky gloom, Ali wasn’t even sure if his eyes were open or shut. It wouldn’t have mattered. He wrapped his arms around himself, trying to keep warm. After a few moments, his eyes started to adjust. He found he was in a long hall with a set of stairs at the far end. He found an old cracked mirror and examined himself. The Ali looking back at him was as deathly pale as his olive-skin would go, and his pupils had dilated so much that his dark brown irises were hardly visible. He saw ornaments shaped like dragons and monsters and gargoyles behind him. Then, out of the corner of his eye, he saw something that made him turn round. A trail of fresh footprints was clearly seen in the settled carpet of untouched dust, leading to a small door under the stairs. With a mounting sense of dread, Ali lifted his hand and pushed the door open.

Hide and Seek on a Strange Planet

CH - Year 6

"Lets play a game of hide and seek in the woods!" suggested Becky. "Ok, but don't go too far!" warned her big brother. "I know!" she said rolling her eyes. "Yeah, okay sis. You go hide and I'll count," he said giving her a push. Becky ran into the woods to hide. She found a pile of leaves, dived into them and lay perfectly still. Suddenly she saw a bright pulsating light, which surrounded her,and hypnotically transported her to another place. After some time, Becky found herself on a strange planet, somehow breathing oxygen. "Where am I?" she asked looking at Earth in the distance. Suddenly, a big, hairy monster jumped out at her. Then came another... and another. "I'm Bog," said one, "This is Mog and Gog." "Take me home!" pleaded Becky. "Maybe. But only if you give us food!" said Bog. Scared, Becky pulled out some chocolate from her pocket. Bog gave her a mini spaceship to get home. "Drive carefully!" he said. "Bye!" chorused Mog and Gog. Becky waved at them and took off into space. Unfortunately, she landed on the wrong planet. Monsters appeared from all directions. Bubble and Gum

EJ - Year 6

‘‘It’s so tight in here.’’ I told bubble, my sister. “I know gum but we’ll be out soon.” She promised, and as if by magic we started to lift up, and travelled forward. “Ouch!!” Bubble moaned pitifully. We heard a loud cling! And suddenly we were travelling again. The terrifying mess we were trapped in started to peel off, then two fat, peach chunks strongly gripped my sides and started to squeeze. Suddenly I found myself being lifted, high in the sky I squealed with joy despite the uncomfortable felling on my sides. Then everything went black…………….       “Ha, ha, ha, ha!” I yelled, laughing. (I was at that moment being tickled by rocks in the dark) “How strange it is in here.” I said to myself. Then a large gap opened, I felt cold air push on my back, stretching me. “Huh?” I wondered, the air came faster and faster. I started to stretch...Stretch...Stretch…and stretch some more until I was out of the hole, bigger than it even. Then suddenly POP!

Where was the Door?

AF - Year 6

It was getting closer. I could feel its presence poisoning the still night air. What should I do? I didn’t know. Then, quite suddenly, there was a noise. I forced myself to believe that it was my parents, coming to rescue me from this sinister nightmare, but, deep inside, I knew very well that it wasn’t. I whipped round to face the door. The door? Come to think of it, where was the door? It was then that a horrible thought struck me. A thought that made my blood turn as cold as marble. There wasn’t a door.  With a sharp pang, I realized that I was trapped.

I Heard Footsteps

JB - Year 6

It was silent. I felt anxious and afraid, my poor heart pounded like a steel drum. Knowing the halls were usually bright, bold and crowded confused me deeply as now they were dark, cold and empty. Cold tears ran down my cheek. The headmaster’s door came closer and closer, my stomach churned and spun like a washing machine. My steps echoed in the deserted corridor, my breath was like a lions roar. Suddenly I heard footsteps…..........

Ringggggggg!

Finally.

The Killer Drop

KP - Year 6

“JUMP!” screamed Elliott, as Jake approached Killer, the sheer drop which dominated the forest. “Where should I jump too?” shouted Jake as he neared the Killer. “Jump to the rocks!” Elliott bellowed as he jumped of his bike and ran towards Jake. Elliott skidded to a halt beside Jake before grabbing his hand and pulling him out of the raging rapids. “Thanks,” murmured Jake as he looked down at the Killer.

“Wow! Look how steep it is!” gasped Elliott.

“AAAAHHHHHHH!” screamed the two boys as Peter, the neighbourhood bully, pushed them down the Killer. “We are going to die!” shouted Jake as he was flying through the air. “Think positive!” bellowed Elliott. The two boys fell to their doom. “Why haven’t we landed yet?” screamed Jake.

“I have no idea!” said Elliott, confused with the logic. Elliott and Jake fell for what felt like days before hitting solid ground. “Ouch!” groaned the two 11 year olds as they hit the ground. “Where are we? It looks like china!” assumed Jake as he looked around….

The Lion was Behind Me

LT - Year 6

The car screeched to a halt soaring through the air and landing with a crash. Wondering what to do next , I jumped out. Stepping into the freshness of the grass and the roarness of the tree bark. Monkeys swinging from tree to tree, elephants thumping around and at the top of a hill, a LION, with fire coloured hair and googly eyes, the lion started to scratch the ground looking as if it was about to charge. Within a split second I dashed behind a tree wondering if the mad animal had saw. I peeked around knowing that the lion might catch sight, and it did. It started sprinting towards me like a wild blood hound. I didn't know what to do, so, I started scurrying up the tree like a demented squirrel leaving scratch marks behind me. But little did I realise, THE LION WAS BEHIND ME. There was no where to go, he was going to get me. He went for my leg, leaving a chunk out of it, I yelped out in pain, but the next thing I heard was "Libby wake up you're going to be late for school ". What an adventure.

My Mini Universe

CO - Year 6

What an adventure! I was lying in bed and I looked at the clock, it showed 1:30 I wanted to go to sleep but I just couldn't. I don't know why but it was just impossible. Suddenly the ground started to shake and a purple circle appeared on the floor. I jumped onto it to see if it would disappear but instead it sucked me in! I only heard my mams last words 'stop banging, 'and by that time I was gone. I ended up in a new world universe where I was really small, I was nearly squashed by people's feet! That day I was a mini human causing a terrible amount of trouble! The only problem was is that it wasn't me. Suddenly I heard a clatter of feet storming after me and before I got a chance to run a large heavy foot stood on me. When I opened my eyes I was staring at my bedroom ceiling. 'What a adventure!' I exclaimed!

The Greatest Adventurist Ever

JF - Year 6

What an adventure. The sun set behind the trees in the distance. It was late afternoon maybe about five o’clock at night. Other than the cawing birds, everywhere was quiet ,the silence was broken and a rusty military helicopter flew overhead. Inside lay possibly the greatest adventurist ever, Jim. He had just been to the Amazon, on his latest adventure to recover the Golden Book. Jim had risked everything he had to recover the book, he had been attacked by loads of wild animals. Jim had three big holes in his leg where an anaconda had savaged him, he now had a cold flannel over his face. The pilot was a old British man who could drive any vehicle. Out of the blue a loud churning noise started coming from the propellers, one of the propellers snapped clean off and went tumbling down towards the jungle. The helicopter lurched forward towards the dense jungle. Startled, Jim woke up and quickly took the co-pilot seat. The helicopter came crashing through the trees scaring loads of monkeys. A group of minibuses drove towards them with tourists onboard, they were going to the airport and they had two spare seats to share.

The Swarm of Wasps

NS - Year 6

There we were me and James running through the dense Amazonian Jungle, when the faint sound of Buzzing caught our attention “What’s that?” said James quietly, we looked around as it got louder and louder “RUN!” I shouted, we ran and ducked under some logs as the biggest swarm of wasps were flying over us! The wasps had finally gone, it had took about a minute before they all passed “What was that about?” I asked “I have no idea” James replied “A swarm of wasps that big wouldn’t just fly like that, would they?” I asked “I don’t know” James replied, the ground was starting to shake every second suddenly it stopped, there it was again! “It’s getting louder!” James said “Much louder” I replied, behind us a tree fell down, nothing small could do that. We walked over, it hadn’t been cut down more like wrenched out the roots and all! Its starting again, a huge shape appeared behind us coming at amazing speed! “RUN” I yelled, we ran towards a waterfall, and hid in a small cave were we camped for the night! What an adventure!

The Man who Chased Me

NJ - Year 6

I gasped for breath as I looked behind and was thrilled to find that the man wasn’t chasing me. Without thinking, I quickly got out my phone and called my school, telling them that I won’t be able to attend today because of an appointment. I thought that they were curious; I loved school and they know that my mother would have postponed the appointment so I won’t miss my schooling, they might think it’s probably for medical reasons. But what about my mother? Won’t she be shocked if the school phoned and reported I hadn’t shown up for registration? My heart thumped faster that day and I could feel it, like a drum. Despite all the questions in my mind, I was most curious about the man who chased me. I sat on the train and tried to think of what I should do, but I had a stomach ache and I felt nervous anytime a man who is poorly dressed walks past me. As the train approached the station, I felt really peculiar as I could see that same man, but this time he came and grabbed me. Consequently my life, as I knew it, had changed forever.

I Heard Burglars

AN - Year 6

I awakened to the eeriness of my old, spooky bedroom. My throat was raw and dry. I decided to go and get a drink. Delicately, I tip-toed down the groaning stairs… it felt as if they were stopping me from venturing down them. Maybe there was something down there… A silhouetted shadow danced passed the curtains, as an amazing moonbeam slanted through the house, the stars and the moon smiling in delight of the beautiful night. I heard a noise. Some sort of clambering, then a cackle. A man, wait, two, in black, stripy clothing and balaclavas. Burglars! “No, it couldn’t be; should I run? No wait, I’ll follow them!” I whispered to the stars. Just my luck, though, they heard me. A tall, dark man with a deep voice pulled me viciously into a large sack. I heard them chuckling at me, and I knew I should get out. They threw the sack into which felt like a car boot… everything started to spin… I woke up terrified. Where was I? Where had they taken me? But, I recognised the ceiling. I was back in my bedroom, my lovely bedroom. Wow, I thought…  What an adventure!

What Lies Ahead

AB - Year 6

Anxiously edging of the precipice of the helicopter, I suddenly felt in a state of panic! Then, the cacophonous drone of rotor blades buzzed in my ears! As I timidly steadied myself… I LEAPED out!!!!!!!!! Falling to the sodden grass below, my life flashed before my eyes…… As I hit the ground with a heavy thud, I stared at the dense forest ahead of me…… Slowly trembling through the boggy trenches, a smell of one thousand corpses invaded my nostrils! When suddenly, a faint rustle echoed in the wind. With no idea of where to go, I ventured into the unknown! Constantly peering from left to right, I saw nothing but the bare scenery of trees and mud. However, all of a sudden, a deep dark cave was pictured into the corner of my eye! As I hastily advanced to the gloomy cave of darkness, a cold shiver ran down my shrivelled up spine! Then more noises started from left to right, up and down. Thinking that my mind was playing tricks on me, I bravely strided forward. Stepping into the dreary damp void, I was gripped with an over whelming sense of fear! WHERE WAS I!!!!!!! WHAT LIES AHEAD………!!!!

The Concealed Tomb

CH - Year 6

I never thought my holiday to Egypt could get any stranger until... Whilst I was blissfully strolling though the torrid plains of the Egyptian desert, I heard a suspicious sound coming from the howling wind- I felt terribly confused, almost petrified. My heart stopped with fear; I then knew the anonymous voice was the wind trying to say something to me. Perhaps it was a special message from god or just the scorching weather which is making me hear things. “I need you to find the hidden tomb far, far into the depths of the desert, this is so vital to me, so if you don’t do it, it might cost you your life,” commanded the mysterious whisper from the wind. So that night, I went into the blazing desert to find this concealed tomb. All of a sudden, it started to get extremely dark- I wasn’t sure if I could have found my way through Fortunately, I finally found what I was after the tomb! But then I heard such a cacophonous scream, it made me wonder what was there. Obviously, I went to investigate what was happening. Then I discovered why. And the girl was never seen again...

Is There Really Nothing There

CP - Year 6

Through the dark haze of the forest, a dark shadowy silhouette crept slowly tree to tree. In the corner of my eye, the distant forest exit faded mysteriously. Suddenly, a scurry of paws and feet lurked in the convoluted undergrowth. At that very moment, an aroma of a thousand corps invaded my sensitive nostrils. Accidently, I fell into a cobweb as a small tickle of spider’s legs advanced down my arm. Swiping it off, I carried on my way. Without warning, a cold bony hand covered my screeching mouth… Then-I heard another deaf-defying scream as my weary head went blank… When I awoke, I was laid on the damp forest floor. Noticed, a long cut ran along my arm as a trail of blood drops ran along into the night of the forest…Looking up I saw a black mare with deep green eyes boring down into me. As I brushed of my leaf-covered body, I rode it into the dancing moonlight that amalgamated together in the light of the full moon. After that, a path of deep red blood led to a dark cloaked silhouette lying hidden. Vampire teeth were showing and dripping with blood.

“I couldn’t believe it, my favourite uncle has just died and all he’s given me is a horrible boring poem.” I muttered under my breath. “Come on Calypso; cheer up, stop being so sour. I know you’re upset. Do you want to come with me to tidy up you’re uncles attic?” Mum says nicely (to make me feel better). But of course, it’s not working. When we were there I stropped behind my Mum. I saunter into the house that smells of freshly planted lavender. I go up to the attic to bring a box down but while I’m there see my favourite book and I open it, it wasn’t it was just an illusion. It was the other half of the poem I got it out of my pocket and put them together. It said: I’m still alive my child, If you cry the tears of happiness I will appear. I cried onto the poem, but it wasn’t wet. My uncle appeared. He said “I cried onto the poem and I got trapped in it. Everyone thought I was dead.” Then he went. I landed in my kitchen. I saw a silhouette. It was him.

Grandma and the Loch Ness Monster

RG - Year 6

Rise and fall I am Maria. I am twelve; fairly tall for my age and have black hair and sea green eyes. The Isle of Skye, where I live is probably the most amazingly beautiful place to live in the entire world! I look at my Grandma and wonder what goes on in her brain; she seems oblivious to everything that goes on around her, no matter how important it seems to us. Today we are going to Loch Ness. We drive down narrow, winding roads until we reach our destination. My grandma says she will go shopping, so I wander over to the Loch and start taking photos to put in my scrap book. I first saw it in the distance, but it seemed to creep closer to me, (like a paper clip to a magnet). I think it is the Loch Ness Monster, but I can’t be sure. I wobble; then fall into the murky green water, only to be scooped up by my mystery sea serpent. I rose and then I fell, back into the Loch. On the way home I look back to see my Monster grinning at me, I grinned back.

The Food Store

JR - Year 6

Aaron Moor was out hunting, searching desperately for food to feed his hungry family. The food that Laman, the capital, provided was barely enough and the whole city was starving.                 Aaron took a step forward, tracking a young deer. . .  And the ground crumbled beneath him.                 Aaron looked around.                 ‘Where am I?’ he whispered. He was in a cavern with an opening in the wall. It led on to a passageway. He ducked in to the opening and walked down the passage. At the end there was a door that was slightly ajar. Aaron opened the door a little more and stepped into a room. He looked around and saw the room was a kitchen full of food. Aaron grinned and stuffed his sack and pockets with tins and packets before running down the passage and into the cavern. Now he looked closer, he realised there was a ladder leaning against the wall. He jumped up the ladder and sprinted home.  It turned out that Aaron uncovered a regularly-stocked food store for the people of Laman. Every week, Aaron and a few others would take about half of the goods to feed Panem and the whole city thrived again.

Memory Lane

SR - Year 6

As silent tears rolled down my cheeks, I continued to walk down the dark, never-ending alleyway. Quick as a flash, blinding lights came that swept me off my feet. They vanished as quickly as they came, leaving me paralysed with shock, in a place which was unfamiliar, yet so familiar. I seemed mesmerised in a strange tranquil state, stranded in a parallel universe. Instantly, I scrutinized my surroundings apprehensively, realising it was time to take a dreaded trip down Memory Lane. I looked around my memories, my head spinning. It was exciting, starting a train of flashbacks and realising I had the opportunity to change the future, to get my family back. It was the town’s 100th anniversary; it was fun until a bomb went off. This time, I knew terrorists were planting a bomb secretly. I warned the mayor, and the building was evacuated, everyone safe, including my family. I felt at peace knowing that I will have my family. Suddenly, bright lights and cold wind blew me to present time. I rushed down the alleyway, knowing that my loving family will be waiting for me, not knowing how my adventure has changed their lives.

Sam read the letter several times before he pressed the button. The fireplace hummed and screeched for a moment until a doorknob appeared. The Whale in the Desert

LK - Year 6

The scorching sun burnt my face, like fire with plastic. In the Sahara desert, the only way to survive is water. We have been travelling for eleven days now, and we still haven’t found a trace of the treasure… “CRASH!” there was a loud, surprising thud in the distance, and it made us jump higher than a frog. We got very suspicious, so we decided to investigate. After all, there hasn’t been much movement since the last century that we’ve been here anyway, and we were getting bored. We are at the heart of the mystery. We found a massive whale! I felt very sorry for the breathless whale, and wondered who on earth did have such a barbarous idea. I was looking at the whale, when a note caught my eye. It was stuck to the whale’s belly. It said, “Dear reader, I am the mummy of the pyramids, and I command you to stop searching. If you deny my command, all the animals shall die. Soon after, it shall be YOU that dies! Signed, Anonymous Five years later… “Ring! Ring!” the phone was ringing. “Ring! Ring!” but there was no-one to answer it.

The Teacher's Secret

MA - Year 6

When I was little I used to think that the teachers slept at school, now I am almost certain they do1 I was walking through the gloomy corridors of the school, searching for my phone that Mr. Buttery had confiscated. Ahead of me was the staffroom, and almost at once it seemed the perfect place for my phone to be. I went over to the door, creaked it open and crept inside. There was a muffled noise and I peered upwards, however what I saw next made my eyeballs pop out of their sockets! Up above me there was about nine big bat like creatures hanging from the ceiling. I opened my mouth to scream but no sound came out. Then, without warning they awoke and as they got down from the ceiling, they turned back to their natural form; the teachers! As fast as the speed of light, I ran out of the school. While I continue with my life, I will never forget the teacher’s dark secret.

The Overturned Boat

AM - Year 6

“Oh no! The boat is going to tip over!” I was at the highest point of Dragon Falls at Chessington World of Adventures. If I went back the way I came, I would be hit by a boat- to go down the huge drop without a boat was too dangerous.        I was worried. The next boat was closing in. Starting to panic, I suddenly had an idea. I would swim under every boat until I found an empty one. The only thing that was stopping me was the fact that the water was flowing so quickly that surely it would be impossible. There were now three boats closing in on me. I took a deep breath and went under. I swam quickly past the first two boats. I came up to take a breath and noticed that ahead was an empty boat. I went back under and passed the next four boats. I reached the next boat.         SPLASH! The boat came to the end of the huge drop. I came to the end of the ride. One of the staff asked me why I was all wet. “Because of the over-turned boat that came.” I replied with relief.

He climbed to the highest branch of the tree and stayed there.Max yelped and then he barked loudly. Some local residents came to the park to see what the noise was about. They looked up into the branches and saw a boy.  “There is a boy in the tree! Call the fire brigade someone” When the fire brigade arrived they brought the mayor Mr Johnson “Come down boy!” called the Mayor. “I won’t come down until you say that you won’t cut the tree. You can put the playground somewhere else!” The entire crowd suddenly shouted “Save the tree” The mayor realised how strong the feeling was and agreed to rethink the plans. Billy looked up and saw a whole alien world, as quick as a flash Billy was strapped up and being screeched at. That dark night Billy thought of a way to escape. He had a plan; he would break out of the chains next morning and sneak out.   Billy ran all the way to the crater near his rocket but how could he get out with it being so high up Billy saw a ladder and used that to get out but he had to hurry because his oxygen was running out very quick, but he made it in time. “What an adventure!” Billy said in amazement. Billy zoomed home to his small house in England. “I should have brought my dog!”

Before they knew it they were surrounded by man-eating dinosaurs.   Danny had an idea; he had some left over cookies from lunch, so he threw four cookies to each hungry dinosaur so they wouldn’t notice them escaping.   Danny and Mum quickly pushed the boat up the hill and squeezed back into the main track and slowly floated the exit route.       “Mum, next time we come here, can we go on this ride again? However I was determined to find her real mum. I stood up and walked to my draws and pulled out the first piece of paper. I already know the address to Ellie’s real mum’s house. I wrote a quick letter to say please come and help Ellie she’s terribly ill. One night I snuck out while Ellie was still sleeping and ran through the quiet street of Southampton. I ran into the post office and quickly posted it and jogged home. I hope it can help Ellie I really do.

The Ice-Cream Monster

KB - Year 6

As Sally sprinted down the steps of the coach she yelped in pain as a snake sank his teeth in to her flesh. She couldn’t help it despite the fact that lunch was nearly ready but she limped off in search of an adventure? When Sally came to a cave she felt sick with guilt. Over in the distance she could just make out a dim light revealing an opening at the other end of the mangy smelling cave. Five minutes later Sally was tumbling in to a world of ice-cream fascinated by her surroundings. All she could do was eat, since her appetite was increasingly high. “Excuse me! I’m going to have to eat you because you’re eating my ice-cream!” something screeched. He started lobbing chocolaty stuff at Sally; however she fired back with strawberry sauce and marshmallows that lay beneath her. After about three minutes, the ice-cream monster curled up in a ball, dead with exhaustion. Sally had saved the day once again (although she had never saved it before). She sauntered back to the cave, overjoyed. As she returned to camp Sally wondered out loud, “Have they missed me?” “NO!” chorused the rest of the group!

The reason why I have to remove my finger is because it is all dead and is going to fall off anyway. As I reached my house I was so scared to talk to my mum as she was the one that said to have my finger amputated. I new why I had to have the operation, as I walked in through the door my heart was pounding. The next day was the day of the operation and I was going to have to go to the hospital in one hour. At the hospital I went into a room and had a chat with the doctor he said I am not the only one to have this problem and actually that made me feel better. The operation went to plan and I was very happy I was in hospital for two days after the operation and am now at home. For the people that are having a operation they are not that bad.

The Lone Woman Pirate

E - Year 6

The ocean sprayed on her face whilst, the salty droplets clung to her matted hair. She was free. But, she would pay the price. And, the price wasn’t gold. Scarlet was climbing the rigging, of The Fortune, when, she was called down. It was time. She had been waiting for this moment. The captain, a youthful young fellow still in his twenties with a sturdy build and broad shoulders, told her to write her name on the account. The captain, also, read out the terms. She replied with the words “I will.” She was now, a pirate! Scarlett went into her, lone, cabin, because she was the only woman on this pirate ship. If she had stayed on deck a moment longer she would have seen the mermaid. He was after her. The person who came on deck was a different person. Scarlett’s long blonde hair was plaited then tied in a bun. She had a new spring to her step. It was as graceful as a dance. The men froze in mid battle. They found her irresistible. Her plan had worked. The gun was in the fold of her dress. She drew it from the position that it held. Her hand trembling. After that, it was all over in a matter of moments. There was an abundance of rum, soon after. They had won so; Scarlett was the hero of the hour.

Coming Down the Mountain

AS - Year 6

Snow covered the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro. It was really the most beautiful sight my eyes had ever set upon. It was bitter. “Mum! Dad!” I bellowed. I heard no reply; I was alone. It was slippery as ice. Realising it was getting dark, I panicked. Cautiously, I staggered down the mountain, anxious about my parents. My head pounded. Huge dense trees engulfed me. Hearing the distant roar of lions, made me shiver. Numerous twigs lay on the moist ground. Dead plans were everywhere to be seen. I lay in agony. Blood gushed from my painful leg. I had stumbled straight into a jagged rock. My heart raced. Darkness dominated… Once again, the landscape changed. Hundreds of stones covered the moist ground. I prayed to see my parents safe and sound back at the base camp. Limping, I strained my eyes to see. At that instant, an eagle with outstretched claws flew towards me. Rapidly, I dived to ground. Goosebumps crawled up my trembling arms. Hours passed. There was still no sign of my parents. Eventually, I reached the bottom. To my amazement, I made out my parents darting towards me. I was on cloud 9. I hope I never have to experience an adventure like that again.

He unwillingly explained that the only way out was the path leading out from his homey-habitat. The monkey made a deal: if Laura gave him a banana, she would be led out by the monkey. Laura sealed the relatively easy deal.Amazingly; the monkey took this as a compliment and kept his deal. Strolling out of the endangered jungle, Laura revolved round and found the little monkey sobbing from beneath the dirty, soil-covered ground. They had become great friends so Laura happily took the monkey to be her well-respected pet. They led out of the jungle together to a world of happiness.

The buzzing sound seemed like it was approaching closer and closer. From out of the corner of Hermione’s eye she spotted the propeller of a helicopter and yelled herself hoarse. The others followed suit. “Please stop sobbing, Mandy, the helicopter seems to have spotted us!” Pleaded Hermione. Mandy only 8, did as she was told. Meanwhile in the helicopter they were debating whether they should see if the children were lost. They decided it wouldn’t do much harm. Back at the mountain still waving desperately, Hermione secretly gave up hope. Fortunately, the helicopter dived on to the mountain and two burly men jumped out and asked if they were lost. They replied the obvious answer and stepped into the helicopter. It took flight and the four girls cried with joy to be reunited with their family and friends.

Oliver walked into the kitchen asking: “I’m dying of boredom”  “Why don’t you draw” replied Mrs. James, his mouth was shaped like a little o. He sat on his desk drawing a stickman battle scene making noises as the tanks shot there cannons. Just when he was going to draw a spitfire, something hit his arm. Oliver looked down on the page and realised that the men were moving: shooting, bombing and knifing. The men joined forces to jump on me tying to bring me down. The spinning chair fell back and they were throwing ropes over him. Oliver picked up the pencil and drew a hoover; he picked it up then sucked them all up leaving the ropes. He got the ropes and tied them round the hoover tube. Oliver drew a time vortex and threw them in it. Oliver went into the kitchen saying: “What an adventure I had today, I will not draw again!”

6 Minutes from Death

SH - Year 6

It was the day of the fountain flood; it was only 2 hours away. I had to do something; the world couldn’t die out because this would be a disaster. No more living creatures we’d be extinct for ever. The death every one dies in sudden movement. Time flew past as a virus or some kind of thing making people ill. 1HOUR left. I gathered a group of people who would spare there lives for others to travel and take thirsty animals there to drink the water as well people. Some were chopping down trees to fill the gap so only small bits of water would get through. Builders came and helped pin down the trees so they would not fall down the fountain. Every one went home ,that wasn’t the end, thunder clouds came then it was 6 MINUTES FROM DEATH I and my family died after that so did my friends in that case every one died, although when I woke from my deep, dreamy sleep I was alive. I shouted my family they were all alive too. I was in hospital because my mum told me I ran into the wall!

Do Pigs Fly?

AC - Year 6

It was Saturday, the rain was rolling down the window and I was so bored, there was nothing to do. I started thinking about myths and legends, there not supposed to be real are they? My Grandad told me this story which I like so I’m going to tell you it… It was another day on greenwood farm .Grandad was checking the pigs. when wings started growing out of the pigs. He thought to himself how this could be wings growing out of the pigs! He ran out of the shed however he stopped and said if I tell someone I might get the blame for what is happening also the pigs might get killed. So he did the silliest thing ever he got on one of the pigs that had not left the ground. The pigs flew up into the clouds and it was amazing above the clouds. There was a pig land full of different types of pigs. Grandad didn’t know what to do, well there wasn’t much he could do get off the pig and fall to his death or live with them. Well he obviously found some way to come down.

The Rain Elf

ZS - Year 6

It was the usual boring Thursday morning: Get up, go for a walk and have something to eat. But this day was different. Let me tell you about it… We set off for our Thursday stroll to the wood and bought a picnic including sandwiches, crisps and fruit. We travelled by boat like we always do and then we got there. We emptied our hamper and started eating. It was nice food, so nice that someone joined us … an elf! The elf had a typical elf costume on and deep grey eyes. It was strange really because as soon as the elf came to us it started raining, we did not know why. So we ran and ran and ran. We returned to the boat but found it was not there because the rain was so bad. So we had to spend the night in the hut. We settled ourselves down to go to sleep but I was suddenly awoken by something running through the door it was the rain elf.

The Swamps in the Isle of View

HD - Year 6

The two children hastened to the gloomy, acidic swamps in the Isle of View. The swamp let out a rancid, green vapor, the smell was worse than a rubbish dump in a toilet. The oldest child (Alexander Goth) was very gullible; his friend told him there was a swamp demon was in the swamp! Is this true? As for the other child, Celia Dreamer, was not gullible and thought this is a load of rubbish. POW! The monumental dead tree thudded on to the floor! Celia (the clever one) tried to find the source of this very unlikely event. The source of the event was a huge, Fur covered; three headed bear! “I’ve h-heard of these!” Celia stammered. “It’s a Shadow B-Bea-r-r-r-r-r! Worst creature ever been found.” Celia trembled. The Bear snarled at the children! There was one thing different about the children – THEY’RE MAGICAL! They are not ordinary children. Together, they went to magic school. They know their entire junior level spells grade A* wizards. They could easily defeat the bear! “Uh oh.” Alexander moaned.”No wands! WE’RE GONNA DIE!!” He Cried. “Hey we can use fingers!” Celia told him.

Suddenly, a mysterious, odd looking creature swimming through the frost biting water, was spotted by the lifecraft. My Desperate Kayaking Trip

CA - Year 6

What an adventure! . A little unsteady at first, I had soon got used to ferry gliding- aiming higher upstream than I wanted to be, to compensate for the power of the white water. This was my first kayaking trip and the anticipation of the looming rapids made me gulp. My name was called, so I took tentative strokes over to Jenna, our instructor. She explained how it was important to keep paddling furiously, or I wouldn’t be able to turn into the eddy. So I got onto the rapids and grinned happily, it was wonderful! The water rushing past me, the trees blurring as I whooshed past, my friends waiting for me at the end. But I forgot to paddle! I had missed the eddy! Then a large rock appeared in front of me! I screamed as my boat smashed against the rock and capsized (flipped over), and I tugged at my spray deck. I couldn’t get it off! I began to panic; I was rushing down the river at top speed, upside-down, unable to breath, and terrified. I gave one final desperate tug, then bobbed up gasping for air. I was relieved to Jenna, right next to me, shouting at me to grab her boat. I held on for my life. She twisted her paddle and kayaked furiously towards the bank. We landed smoothly on the sandy bank. I was shivering violently. She smiled at me. “I think that you just earned your 2*,” she said, “all you needed was a capsize!”

Aurora the Goddess of Dawn

DL - Year 6

Rustling through my cupboard, I searched for my cleaning supplies; once again I can’t find them. I search and search and hunt and hunt but they are nowhere to be found. Finally I find something, not my supplies though, a glittery box covered in diamonds, rubies, emeralds and more. Inside the box is a letter and a single buttoned remote. Carefully I pull out the letter, it read “I'm Aurora the Goddess of Dawn, please help me there is destruction in mine and my fellow goddess’s beloved home, save me! From Aurora." Cautiously I pressed the button. A bright light appeared in the sky then I was in a new world. I saw a Goddess, then I heard a scream from inside a tower, I was curious, the Goddess assured me it was nothing. I dashed toward the tower and burst through the door inside was a Goddess she told me her name was Aurora I explained that I meet Aurora out side she’s fake she exclaimed. Look if you through water on the fake she will disintegrate so I snuck up on the phoney and threw water on her and she faded away. What an adventure!...

The Remains of HMS Mary Rose

CD - Year 6

Dear Diary 8-12-2010 Today was such an exiting day. When I was on my way to my friend’s house, I took a short-cut through the woods. Within these woods I found remains of HMS Mary Rose and a fossil. So I sprinted home and explained to my mother how I found these. Although I was forbidden for going into the woods I had to tell her about my find. At this time I did not know what the ship remains were from. Later on my Mum booked a spot to show the museum owners the historical remains. At 13:30pm we took a journey to the museum. We convinced them to come to the woods and collect the remains. This is the time when they told me that the boat remains were from the HMS Mary Rose and the fossil was called a belemnite. The historians took the remains and offered me a £100 pounds. Although it was tempting to take I turned it down and said no because it was a great day!
