Title: Who will look after me?

I lay in bed awake. The clock showed 10:30 pm. I thought this had been the best day ever. Earlier that day...

Suddenly I opened my eyes to the sound of a door slamming and found my mom standing in the kitchen.

"What was that about mom?" I asked. She opened her mouth but no words emerged.

I began to ponder about what the argument was about as I sat in the car and we soon arrived at a court room.

"Stay here," mom said.

"What!"  I replied. After my mom went in, I couldn't resist so I followed.

"We are gathered here today to decide which parent will look after the child."

"What?" I said bewildered. "I don't want one parent: I want two!" I screamed and then stormed out. A couple of minutes later, my mum joined me.

"A decision has been made."  We walked back inside.

"I have decided that it should be...both" the judge said.

"We've decided to give it another go," whispered my mom. Suddenly my heart lit up with joy. Later on I crawled into bed.

The clock read 10:30 pm. I thought surely this was the best day ever!
